How LEGOS are like Roaches...

Yeah, you heard me...

1. They are everywhere.

2. They seem to multiply exponentially.

3. I find them places I don’t like, like on my kitchen counters and on the bathroom floor.

4. It is enjoyable to suck them up with the vacuum cleaner.

5. Stepping on them in the dark is extremely unpleasant.

6. It always aggravates me to look under a piece of furniture and find them underneath.

7. When I see them all over the place, I feel like my house is dirty and messy.

8. They’re tiny.

9. They make their way into every crack and crevice.

10. When you clean them out in one room, they show up in the next.

All in all, I don’t want roaches in my house and Legos are now just a necessary evil because my 6 year old is now emotionally attached.

Damn you Legos, damn you!

  1. Loved this post! We have LEGOs everywhere as well, but I have to say that I love playing with them as much as my kids. :)

I go so far to check the vacuum cleaner bag every time I change it to see if there are any errant LEGOs inside. I usually find two or three.

  2. That's really funny because at first I was concerned @ sucking them up (clogged vacuum, money down the drain, etc) but now? I just snicker! lol

  5. Oh dear. My little guy is not lego-ready yet but already his toys clutter the house- I can only imagine once legos enter the equation. Yikes! :(

  6. LOL!! This post cracked me up! :) We haven't gotten into legos yet, but we have racecars...EVERY WHERE. My little boy is obsessed with Lightning McQueen; so him and all of his buddies invade my house daily. Found you on Twitter and looking forward to following!

  7. When my brother was young he played a game of "hide and seek legos" with his friends at his birthday party. For years after that we were finding legos mixed in with the silverware, on top of bookshelves, inside cereal boxes, in the fireplace, anywhere you might be afraid to find a roach! I would be willing to bet there are a few still lurking.

  8. Jenelle, thanks for following! Hope you stay entertained! :)
Crazyrambler, I have lived with roaches once, for three months. I swore Never Again!! lol Been paranoid ever since! lol
Aisha, Legos seemed so cool at first, he was so taken with them, but now...he drags them around everywhere! Whoever comes up with a viable organization system for Legos will be a flippin' millionaire!! lol
Courtney, while Legos hurt to step on, at least your feet cannot go flying out from under you when you step on them! lol
Rachael, that is hilarious! What a great running family joke! :)

  9. Hi Lara,
    Delightful post about Legos.
Are you in L.A.? (the Lala land part...) I'm on the East Coast and here we have stink bugs...everywhere! As I was reading I was thinking about those little buggars and hoping they don't make their way to California.
I am a writer too. Email me re. your novel if you want, I'd love to know what it's about. Bye for now...thanks for stopping by.
